Strongsville Veterinarian Helps Fight Fleas
Posted on 2012-02-21 07:10:04
Feline and canine allergic dermatitis can be an issue for pet owners even in the winter months. Not only are these parasites an itchy nuisance, but they can lead to a variety of pet health issues. At Crossroads Animal Hospital in Strongsville, just south of Cleveland, we believe that flea prevention is a necessary part of any pet wellness care regimen. The best way to deal with fleas is to keep them from gaining a well-established foot-hold in your home. Once you start seeing fleas, it is likely your pet and household are already heavily infested. Topical medications, such as Frontline, are largely successful at preventing fleas and in killing any existing fleas. These medications are applied once a month to your cat or dog and stay in the pet’s skin and hair to kill the flea when it comes into contact with the topical product. They also act on flea eggs, preventing them from hatching.
