Protect your Pet from Parasites...Year-Round!
Now that colder weather is here, you may be tempted to stop giving your pets their medication for parasite control. Although the risk of heartworm disease is greatly reduced due to the abscence of mosquitoes outside we can and do still occasionally get mosquitoes indoors.
Most of the products available today are effective for a variety of parasites including some very serious intestinal parasites, ones that can not only make you pet ill, but can be transmitted to humans and are especially dangerous for babies and toddlers. Since these parasites are transmitted primarily in the stool of infected pets, it is essential that we keep our pets, both dogs and cats, on year round prevention.
Discuss with your veterinarian the best year round parasite prevention program for your pet. More information can be found on the internet at the website for the Companion Animal Parasite Council www.capcvet.org
